Reskinning Reality
Reskinning Reality
Reskinning Reality is an experimental pipeline that merges volumetric capture with digital garment simulation. By capturing a single live performance, the system allows hundreds of hyper-real digital garments to be reskinned onto the same moving model, complete with realistic physics, textures, and material behaviour.
The process reduces the need for multiple physical samples and repeated shoots, unlocking more sustainable, resource-efficient workflows while expanding creative possibilities for fashion presentation and storytelling.
At its core, the project explores a shift in production logic: from static image-making to dynamic systems where model, performance, garment, and environment exist in continuous dialogue. Rather than producing isolated outputs, Reskinning Reality operates as a flexible ecosystem—capable of generating campaigns, moving image, and immersive experiences from a single captured moment.
Looking ahead, the project is evolving toward the development of digital likeness—where identity, movement, and presence can be captured, preserved, and reactivated across contexts. This opens new questions around authorship, representation, and continuity, enabling models and performers to exist beyond the constraints of time, location, or a single production.
By combining volumetric capture, advanced simulation, AI automation, and immersive world-building, Reskinning Reality points toward a more intelligent, expressive, and sustainable future for fashion image-making—one where physical and digital processes are not separate, but deeply interconnected.
